History of IDF
IDF was founded in 2007 as an independent funding source to bring needed intellectual balance to Knox College. Generous support from alumni and friends has allowed IDF to broaden intellectual diversity at Knox by funding opportunities for students to encounter and explore under-represented viewpoints.
What We Do
IDF’s mission is to promote intellectual diversity for students of Knox College. In doing this, we provide financial support for guest speakers and lecturers, reference materials, scholarships, and other projects and activities. IDF’s long-term objective is to broaden support for intellectual diversity among students, trustees, faculty, alumni, and friends of the College. We at IDF firmly believe that our efforts provide Knox students with greater exposure to political and social views in a more balanced fashion. IDF’s activities make a valuable contribution to the student experience. We believe we achieve this by providing an environment richer in intellectual diversity in which students can thrive.
